Chasing unpaid invoices

Collections lists the invoices that have gone past due, oldest first. It is also where Ava offers to chase them: she writes each reminder from the invoice and the customer's history, and queues it for you.

What queued means, exactly

Queued is not sent. A reminder Ava has written is waiting, and it keeps waiting until texting is approved for your shop by the phone carriers. That approval is not something we can date, so we do not. Until it lands, the value of the queue is that the writing and the deciding are already done.

A draft is never chased

If an invoice is still a draft, the customer has never seen it — so asking them to pay it would be the most embarrassing message your shop could send. Collections shows a draft as Not sent yet and will not let Ava queue anything against it. Send the invoice first; it becomes chaseable the moment you do.

The count and the total on Collections are the same numbers as the Unpaid tile on Today. If they ever disagree, one of them is wrong and we want to hear about it.

Setting it up

Ava will offer the reminder on Collections when there is something to chase. To make it a standing rule rather than a one-off, save it from Autopilot, under Ava in the sidebar — after that she keeps writing them as invoices age, and they keep waiting for you.
